Self-Help Resources

Self-help is a very broad subject. It can be improvement economically, intellectually, or emotionally. However, it most frequently refers to something with a substantial psychological or spiritual basis. In the literal sense, it means to improve oneself without the help of others.

Self-help is more difficult without the help of others, but we understand that self-help is most often a private quest for improvement. We provide these resources so that you can begin your journey of improvement through self-help. Sometimes personal contacts can be helpful, so we offer some resources there as well.

Improvement of one’s spirituality may involve perceiving or wishing to perceive life as more important ("higher"), more complex or more integrated with one's world view; as contrasted with the merely sensual. This is the basis of why we publish this site. It is also our own self-help project. Helping one another is both our motto and purpose.

Since self-help does represent a broad scope, these resources try to offer a variety of topics for your review.

  • Look for self-help ideas in the links at the left or look for people to contact in the links below.

American Red Cross Sites: are where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies.

The Salvation Army's National Directory of Services: their social services assist millions of homeless, working poor, children, youth, addicted, elderly, and abused families and individuals.

LawHelp.org : LawHelp is your gateway to America's nonprofit legal services providers.

Why we want to help.   .... helping one another is a basic concept we all learn as children. It made us feel good when we could lend a hand and help a parent, sibling, neighbor, cousin, friend, grandparent, aunt or uncle. That sense of satisfaction is still very real today as we reach out to help those in need.

Live today in service to others and live a rewarded life.
